Once a year, our animal shelter opens its doors to girls and boys who would like to find out more about the profession of animal keeper.

On 28 April, eight girls visited us and were able to spend a day looking behind the scenes and getting a taste of the daily work processes.

Together with animal carers, they cleaned cat rooms and dog kennels, fed our rodents, groomed the fur of some of the shelter's residents and were able to see the different types of work that need to be done at the shelter.

Afterwards, the pupils were able to take a tour (with animal keeper Ela) of all areas of the animal sanctuary.

But the best part of the day was definitely playing and cuddling with our cats and dog Rufus.........
