Dear animal lovers,

For the past year, pupils from Carl von Ossietzky Oberschule and Kreisgymnasium Wesermünde have been coming to our animal shelter every week. Interesting projects await our pupils, such as pampering our four-legged friends with a walk, growing animal food and feeding it to our rodents, organising a fundraising campaign, making animal toys, learning about everyday life at the animal shelter and much more.

When we received several raised beds a few weeks ago, the pupils planted herbs and vegetables for our small animals, inspected them regularly and looked after them so as not to miss the optimum harvest time.

Balanced, varied and fresh food is very important for small animals, as they have a vulnerable digestive system, and now the time had finally come! The pupils enthusiastically harvested the first plants and our rabbits were delighted.
